Cookies could be my favourite treats. I love them in every size, colour and shape. Cookies make a great gift: everyone loves them, they are easy to carry and to make. When I first started baking (which was not so long ago), I'd make at least one batch of cookies every week. But I didn't make them just to eat them myself! There is always (or there should always be) a love component in everything we do in the kitchen. I loved to find creative and planet friendly ways to pack them and give them to my family and friends.
Here's just a really simple way to do it:
Shortbread cookies decorated with white chocolate |
Sugar cookies decorated with royal icing |
Cookies packed |
I did this last Christmas for my neighbours. I just used plastic bags and boxes I had collected during the year. The plastic jar on the right of the last picture was full of candy. I simply washed it, put a decorative napkin inside, and placed the cookies there. Why buy decorated boxes and bags if you can make them yourself? All you need is a little bit of imagination to use the things you have at home to make beautiful things.
Here's a video that will give you some ideas to pack your cookies and sweets:

And, if you are a fan of coconut and chocolate as we are, check out this delicious recipe we found recently on this great blog: Easy Homemade Bounty Bars aka Mounds (step-by-step recipe). Try them and let us know what you think!
No more going to the supermarket to buy cookies for special occasions: make them and pack them yourself!
